     什么时候我不需要the?

　　冠词the，在听阅中不干扰考生理解，但在口写中着实容易翻车。

　　示例一

　　不需要the：/地名（该名不指agroupofislandsorstates）

　　需要the：the+/地名（该名指agroupofislandsorstates）

　　TheincrementwasslightlylargerinAmerica/England/Japan.

　　TheincrementwasslightlylargerintheUnitedStates/theUK/theUnitedArabEmirates.

　　示例二

　　不需要the：次出现的或不限定的复数名词（泛指）

　　需要the：前文已提及的或限定的单数/复数名词（特指）

　　that的错误使用

　　大家对that应该并不陌生，我们先用一个图表回顾一下它的基本用法。

　　接下来我们看一下雅思中一些that的错误示范，避免踩雷吧。

　　示例一

　　Theconsumptionofchicken,ontheotherhand,showedanupwardtrend,overtakinglambin1980andbeefin1989.

　　解析：本句主语为theconsumptionofchicken，交点的表达为overtakinglamb..andbeef,前后都比较对象不一致。

　　修改：Theconsumptionofchicken,ontheotherhand,showedanupwardtrend,overtakingthatoflambin1980andthatofbeefin1989.

　　示例二

　　WatchingTVwasmostpopular,withmorethan90percentofchildrenand85%teenagersdoingthisactivity.Thathighpercentagescontrastedsharplywiththelowonesintermsoftakingartclasses,rangingfrom40%to60%.

　　解析：本段第二句使用了that做指代，避免重复，但是that后面的名词为复数形式，前后形式不一致。

　　修改：.......Thosehighpercentagescontrastedsharplywiththelowonesintermsoftakingartclasses,rangingfrom40%to60%.

　　你用对“逗号”了吗？

　　标点误用会直接引起读者阅读障碍和对信息的歧义理解。

　　可是，我们较常用的标点之一——逗号，我们在语言输出过程中都用对了吗？

　　示例一

　　连接词独立句子,独立句子

　　解析：逗号与连接词一起连接两个独立句子，这类常用连接词通常是状从从属连词如Because/If/Although/When/where等。

　　例句：Ifthisisnottrue[,]thenwewouldbeabletopredicthebehaviorandcharacterofapersonfromthemomenttheywereborn.(例子出处:剑5T4WT2)

　　示例二

　　独立句子,连接词独立句子

　　解析：状从从属连词可放两句中间；另外置于中间的连接词还包括平行关系的连词如and/while/but/or以及非限定性定从从属连词which/who/whose/whom等。

　　Interestinsportisnotuniversal[,]andadditionalfacilitiesmightsimplyattractthealreadyfit.(例子出处:剑9T3WT2)
